About Studio Without Walls
Studio Without Walls was born out of necessity really. I was working in so many different studios, using so much of my own equipment, that I became acutely aware of what most recording studios were in desperate need of. Quality infrastructure. I needed logistical equipment support that I just couldn't find.
I was ultimately able to find the equipment depth I needed with rentals, but the time and expense expended to configure a system every time a project started was taking a toll on my staff as well as I.
Studio Without Walls is a simple idea. Build a recording infrastructure that is so high quality, modular, and flexible that you can reliably make music anywhere you want, on any scale. It exists because I needed the equipment we use to cover all the aspects of a production and I will not compromise on anything technical. The system is scalable and very easily re-configurable. This was ultimately how I was able to keep all-in budgets from being a losing proposition, in both finance and quality.
Since its incorporation in 2001, we have worked on hundreds of projects, and Studio Without Walls has now come to represent way more than my services. It is a methodology of modular recording systems and services, the pursuit of technologies that will facilitate the making of better music, and the collection of efforts that has brought together some of the most talented engineers and artists in the world.
